Dr. Ben

There is a belief within the chiropractic profession that most chiropractors don’t simply choose to become chiropractors - the profession chooses them.

Most chiropractors have an interesting story about how they discovered chiropractic and how it began their journey of helping others.

Dr. Ben was a healthy 13 year old boy playing football before entering junior high school when he hurt himself during a hitting drill.

Over the next several months his health began to decline. He started to feel extremely fatigued. It felt as though he was walking through mud. In addition to feeling tired he had a general muscle soreness over his entire body that made it difficult to do much of anything.

Due to his condition he found himself falling behind in school to the point where his parents had to get him a tutor just to keep up.

With all of the doctor’s visits filling up the calendar, his mom decided she needed to quit her job and focus on her son’s health full-time.

Ben was admitted to some of the best hospitals in New England and after a year and several diagnostic tests later - the doctors still had no idea what was wrong.

The doctors eventually diagnosed him fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.

He was given several prescriptions and was told he would need to take them for the rest of his life. The doctors also told him that he would more than likely suffer with pain and fatigue for the rest of his life as well.

Luckily, his parents decided that they weren’t going to take that as a suitable answer for their once healthy son.

The family began to see physical therapists, massage therapists and acupuncturist with little to no success.

Eventually, a family friend suggested they go see a chiropractor. At the end of their rope, the family decided to give it a try.

Within a couple short months, Ben was back in school and missing less and less days.

Another month from there, Ben was outside riding his bike and playing with his friends.

By the time Ben was entering high school he was on the freshmen football team and was only looking ahead.

Being sick at a young age, while unfortunate, afforded Ben the opportunity to see what it is like to be sick in our country.

He originally thought he would become a medical doctor to try and help people similar to him but when chiropractic literally saved his life he knew he could help more people that way.

Ben attended Franklin Pierce University in 2010 where he met his wife, Alison. The two of them did long distance while Ben attended Life University College of Chiropractic outside of Atlanta, GA.

Dr. Ben graduated from Life University Suma Cum Laude in 2014. Upon graduating he accepted a position practicing in Florida.

After a couple years in Florida, Dr. Ben and Alison decided their hearts were with the family and friends back in New England.

The couple moved up to Maine in 2017 and have been loving the way life should be ever since!
