Sometimes I Adjust Stuffed Animals

A lot of people don’t know but it takes a lot of work to become a chiropractor. The average medical doctoral program is about 2,000 hours before their residency. The average chiropractic doctoral program is just shy of 2,500 hours. Chiropractors also undergo several National Board examinations (5 to be exact). Several years spent studying and taking tests - all this to say - sometimes I adjust stuffed animals.

Why do I adjust stuffed animals in my practice?

Because when a 4-year-old asks if you can adjust her favorite stuffed animal before her adjustment you just do it!

Kids understand the importance of regular chiropractic care. It’s only us adults that muck it up sometimes.

Kids understand that the brain is important and it tells your body what to do and how to to do it.

Kids understand that the brain branches into the spinal cord which is protected by the bones of the spine.

Kids understand that these bones can move when they run around and play.

Kids understand that a bone out of alignment is not a good thing and should be fixed as soon as possible.

Kids also understand that chiropractic is for everybody.

Not just for their mom with lower back pain or their dad with migraine headaches.

It is amazing to watch families come into the office and express a higher level of health and wellbeing as they all get adjusted. The boys and girls that come into the office will more likely than not have healthy families as well because they will seek out chiropractic and other forms of health care that help to address underlying health issues rather than masking symptoms with drugs and medications.

I love knowing that each adjustment a family has is making them happier and healthier and if that means I need to adjust a few stuffed animals along the way then I am alright with that.
